The Smoetinhg

(Te Auaha, 65 Dixon Street, Wellington)

Year Three Stage and Screen presents a new work inspired by T.S Eliot's 1922 poem, 'The Waste Land'

Blood and lilacs. Sacrifice and lullabies. Rats and kisses. Disease and giggles. Curses and bones and a tree made of glass. There’s a man with an ocean in his hat.

The Smoetinhg is an entirely original production, devised and performed by third year Stage & Screen students. Equal parts exploration and re-imagining, The Smoetinhg takes inspiration from one of modern literature's most lauded and perplexing works to create theatre for the here and now.
